A message from the OCTAA president regarding the upcoming ATASC BoD elections
Dear OCTAA member,
As an OCTAA paid member, you are entitled to vote in ATASC elections for the opening Board of Director positions, which will take place, on Jan 29, 2012 as announced at the ATASC web site
http://www.atasc.org/, If you are not planning to go to the ATASC elections, you may choose to send me, Mehmet Ali Tan, your proxy to authorize me to vote on your behalf, since I am planning to be there.
Or you may choose anybody else, who would go to the elections, to authorize for this instead of me.
If you choose me, you may fill the bottom portion of the proxy to his my address.
(Mehmet Ali Tan, 252 Greenmoor, Irvine, CA 92614)
and write OCTAA in “Name of Chapter or ATASC At-large Membership” portion,
and mail the proxy to my address in this paragraph.
The eligibility for voting in ATASC elections is only to be “having paid the current membership dues” for you.
One separate proxy per person who is eligible to vote is needed.
Our, dear OCTAA member, ex-officio, Ms. Sevda Aleckson, who is currently on the ATASC Board of Directors has already decided not to run for the Board of ATASC positions, for the next term. We owe Ms. Aleckson for the service she conveyed for our Community in different dimensions and platforms. It is heart breaking to see her leaving this active involvement in ATASC, although she understandably needs a rest from her relentless efforts towards this noble service.
I am currently searching an experienced person or persons with good credentials to nominate for this position to represent OCTAA Community at ATASC Board of Directors. Please send me an e-mail message (
president@octaa.org) to contact him/her if you would like to nominate someone. You may nominate yourself as well.
The condition to be eligible to be a candidate for ATASC Board of Directors positions is to have served officially on the Board of Directors of ATASC or one of her chapters in the past, or serving in a position currently.
With proxy or without proxy, going to the elections of ATASC, I respectfully urge you participate in this election, get involved, or become a candidate if you are eligible. This will enhance the diversity of our community, will enrich the power of collective decision making, addressing our community needs at higher platforms.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Yours truly
Mehmet Ali Tan,
